It is easy to fall into the trap of negative thinking. To fall in line with the latest outrage or even just giving in to the overwhelming sense of doom and gloom that seems to surround us. It is easy because it's always there, it requires zero effort. This way of thinking tends to lead you down a depressing and unfulfilling path.
There's many things in life that are far outside of our control. Events and catastrophes that seem to cripple all forward movement, but only when you believe that it does.
We cannot change these things but what we can do is change our mindset in how we approach life in general. We can begin to see ourselves as the light that ultimately penetrates even the darkest of horizons. The will instead of the wont.
This mindset begins deep within ourselves. A conscious decision that is the seed that will bloom into something great and lasting. Once we start to manifest this in our actions we then begin to change the world around us. We won't change the lives of every single person, but we will change and better the lives of those closest to us.
Change within the community does not start by expressing grandiose ideas and trying to force them upon others. But instead it begins by our actions that inspire those around us to also cast away the impending doom mindset.
Especially during times of doubt and difficulty, we must remain a pillar. A light that cannot be covered with inner darkness. We must become relentless in our pursuit for greatness.
“You have the power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” - Marcus Aurelius
