The Return To The Cello

I started playing the cello back in 2021. Something about this instrument always stirred something deep in me—like nothing else ever has. The sound, the depth, the emotion, the weight of it—it pulled me in instantly. To me, it’s the most powerful and beautiful instrument there is. Every note feels alive.

But life got busy.

After moving into my business HQ, I slowly stopped practicing. The progress faded, and eventually, so did the cello. Since I was renting at the time, I had to return it. Still, the desire never left me.

Over the past year, I’ve gone through some major life shifts. And in the midst of that, I kept telling my wife, “I want to play again by the time I turn 35.” It became a quiet goal. A promise to myself.

She took note and silently started saving money to go towards one.

And then—somehow—the timing lined up. My wife and I found a cello that was the perfect fit. One that feels like it was meant for me. The tone, the weight, the finish—everything about it is beautiful. And this time, it’s mine. I finally have one of my own.

Thank you to my beautiful wife for doing that. It means the world to me.

I’m basically starting from scratch, but something about this moment feels different. This is the right time. Everything I’ve been through has led to this season being the most meaningful time to return to it.

I’m beyond grateful—for the chance, the timing, and the love behind this gift.
